My work explores the relationship between childhood and sensitive subject matters in the form of picturebooks. In my work, I use critical theory on picturebooks to enforce my choices on child culture, having engaged with subjects as diverse as domestic abuse and depression. I have tried to reconstruct the sermon into a visual delight for children with underlying fable like tones.

I use pattern and colour to tell a story in my work. Watercolour is definately my 'go to' medium, however, I have recently begun to explore the medium of screen-print, which has been challenging due to the consideration of colour, shape, and composition. Experimenting with different media and getting the most out of a material is something I pride myself on, especially with the combination of wet and dry media.

With influences as diverse as Maurice Sendak and Dali, new tensions are manufactured from both explicit and implicit dialogues. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project, my methodology is consistent. Each project tends to consist of multiple works, often in a range of different media, and I enjoy being able to experiment with the materiality of differnet things.
